Firebird debuted this season on Monday at the ABT Spring Gala, this time featuring Misty as a principal dancer. So exciting! Going to opening night at Lincoln Center is super fun, the hubby and I went last year. Everyone gets dressed up and they roll out the red carpet which means lots of people watching and gorgeous gown inspiration. Misty’s Prabal Gurung look for this year’s gala was stunning, so of course I had to illustrate her!

Instagram Milestone…
Happy Friday lovelies! Today I’m celebrating a big milestone which I’m excited to share… I reached ten thousand followers on Instagram this week!
Ever since I left my corporate job in January of last year, I have put a lot of energy into getting the word out about my work. And a huge part of that has been focusing my attention to the most visually appealing of all the social media apps, Instagram.

I’m typing from Austin, Texas (and 80 degree temps) but am making my way back to chillier New York today. It’s been fun taking my markers on a trip and sketching fashion month and the Oscars from a new locale. I love downtown Austin and wish I could stay just a bit longer.

I always love fashion week because the sketch inspiration is endless! I’ve been drawing my favorite runway looks, posting my process videos to Snapchat and then sharing the final illos on Instagram. Helloooo in 2016! I’m excited to start the new year, “Phase 2” as I call it, of freelance life. It will officially be one year of this crazy adventure on January 16th and I can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
