I am absolutely thrilled to share that my debut collection of textiles and wallpaper featuring my hand-painted watercolor designs are now available to shop on Spoonflower! This project has been a wonderful exploration into the world of surface pattern design and has given me the opportunity to stretch my creativity while learning new ways of bringing my art into the world.

The Garden Medallion Art Print Collection launches tomorrow and to help you envision these beautiful art prints in your space, I thought I’d share some of my best DIY framing tips along with my favorite sources for vintage inspired frames and colorful mats. If framing intimidates you, know that you’re not alone. But the good news is that framing art prints is actually really simple. And you don’t need any fancy tools either – just a frame, a mat if you’d like, and some acid free framer’s tape!
My brand new collection of prints features a selection of original watercolor fruit & floral paintings from the Watercolor Garden calendar along with corresponding patterns I created using the same motifs. The result is a vintage wallpaper inspired look – each piece gives the appearance of having its own patterned mat! These art prints are equally beautiful framed straight to the edge as they are framed with an added mat. Let’s walk through a few options of frames and mats to give you some inspiration…

In celebration of my illustration membership The Bountiful Artist re-opening to welcome new members in March, I’m thrilled to offer weekly FREE live online Community Art Classes again this year! Starting Sunday, February 19th at 1:00pm EST, I’ll be hosting a one hour illustration lesson each week using brush markers LIVE on Zoom and it’s completely free! A materials list will be sent out ahead of each lesson so you can purchase the exact supplies I’ll be using if you’d like to, but feel free to gather whatever art supplies you have on hand and make the most of them too! We’ll be sketching fun and happy subjects like flowers, shoes, sweet treats, and more.
All skill levels are welcome to join!
If you participated in Community Art Class last year and didn’t unsubscribe from the mailing list, then you’re all set! But if you are joining us for the first time, be sure to subscribe to the exclusive class mailing list so you get a sneak peek of what we’ll be sketching each week along with the Zoom links, materials lists, and class replays delivered to your inbox.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
Styling Heirloom Eggs…
The Heirloom Egg & Plate Collection launched nearly two weeks ago and I’ve had the honor of sending so many hand painted beauties off to their forever homes. While these one-of-a-kind decorative plates and eggs make beautiful Easter decor, they are also lovely to keep up throughout the spring and even year round. My Mom has kept hers displayed on the nightstand since she received it so she can see it every morning. 🥰
