Hello Lovelies!! Today is the first official day of New York Fashion Week and NYC also happens to be right in the middle of a snow storm! We’re supposed to get 10-14 inches which definitely has me rethinking my footwear…
Hi lovelies! I hope you’re having a great weekend =) I’m excited to share the larger, more detailed photos of my NYFW sketches here on the blog. Here’s a closer look at some of my favorites… Continue reading
I always love fashion week because the sketch inspiration is endless! I’ve been drawing my favorite runway looks, posting my process videos to Snapchat and then sharing the final illos on Instagram. It’s always fun to capture my illustrations as they come to life! If you don’t already, be sure to follow me on Snapchat: JoannaLBaker
New York Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow and although fall clothes and sales are everywhere, New York is definitely still in a summer state of mind! It may be ninety degrees outside but that’s not stopping my day dreams of oversized coats, cozy scarves and the cutest red booties for the season. This tee adds the perfect touch of metallic and I’m in desperate need of some new Hunter wellies!
I’m excited to be able to attend a few events for fashion week while I work through commissions and keep up on the latest fabulous things strutting down the runways. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for of-the-moment sketches as they happen =) I’ll be busy, busy, busy! On your mark…. get set…. sketch!!
I realized I never posted the finished illustration of Carolina Herrera’s final look from NYFW on the blog… so here she is! I was so excited to receive an e-mail from the team at Carolina Herrera last week. They saw my post on Instagram and wanted to feature me on their social media! Of course I jumped at the chance and on Friday, they posted a fabulous video on Instagram of fashion illustrations inspired by their Fall 2015 runway show. I was thrilled to be included with so many talented fashion illustrators!
The past few days have been so exciting with orders coming in from the shop launch, custom illustration inquiries in my inbox and the motivation and kind comments from all of you on my social media pages. I’m just going to take this ball of energy and keep moving it forward, giving it everything I have along the way. The more time I spend freelancing, the more I realize how much power we all have to make our lives what we want them to be. Just let the positive energy move you forward and keep reaching out. You never know where an opportunity could pop up!
Hope you have a happy and productive week =)
