I realized I never posted the finished illustration of Carolina Herrera’s final look from NYFW on the blog… so here she is! I was so excited to receive an e-mail from the team at Carolina Herrera last week. They saw my post on Instagram and wanted to feature me on their social media! Of course I jumped at the chance and on Friday, they posted a fabulous video on Instagram of fashion illustrations inspired by their Fall 2015 runway show. I was thrilled to be included with so many talented fashion illustrators!
The past few days have been so exciting with orders coming in from the shop launch, custom illustration inquiries in my inbox and the motivation and kind comments from all of you on my social media pages. I’m just going to take this ball of energy and keep moving it forward, giving it everything I have along the way. The more time I spend freelancing, the more I realize how much power we all have to make our lives what we want them to be. Just let the positive energy move you forward and keep reaching out. You never know where an opportunity could pop up!
Maybe it was the beautiful white forest backdrop or how slowly each model navigated the wintery set, but something about the Delpozo show on Thursday was absolutely enchanting. I’m usually drawn to feminine silhouettes and graceful details but Delpozo’s looks were so intricate and the shapes wonderfully exaggerated, I just had to draw my favorites!
From left to right, Look 35, Look 4, and Look 32. The beading detail and knitwear effects were stunning… and so much fun to render! Did you have any favorites from New York Fashion Week?? I wonder if we’ll see any Oscar gowns straight off the runways…
I’m off to Sunday brunch, then perhaps a quick trip to H&M to see Miss Ladyfinger in Time Square doing nails for the award show tonight. Maybe I’ll see you there!
