Hello Lovelies!! It’s almost spring which means it’s time for a studio refresh =) There’s nothing that inspires me to work more than having a clean, organized, and inviting studio space. And for awhile now I have been on the lookout for the perfect art cart that would hold all my most frequently used supplies for my illustration business…
On March 25th, I officially turned the big 3-0! It’s crazy to think about starting a new decade, but I have a feeling the next ten years are going to be filled with exciting changes, new opportunities, plenty of memories, and lots of love!
Since I had planned a trip with the hubby to south Florida on my actual b-day, I wanted to get together with some of my friends in the city for a girly day filled with flowers. And a flower arranging party seemed like the perfect thing to kick off the spring season…
On my cab ride home last weekend, I passed Anthropologie just as the windows were being decorated for the holidays. A girl was emptying buckets of glittery faux snow everywhere and it got me super excited to start decorating our apartment for the upcoming season.
The dilemma with decorations in NYC is that there’s limited storage space for them in our apartment for the remaining 11 months out of the year… which usually keeps me from going crazy with the lights and glitter. But these little snow globes are calling to me! I sense a DIY project coming on…
So I’ve been searching for ways to upgrade our little apartment and came across these. They are the perfect way to make a statement and are in keeping with the BF’s two rules (no pink & no flowers!)
I bought simple curtains at Ikea and picked up 6 yds. of black cotton twill in the garment district. I chose to sew my stripes on instead of fusing them. It’s taking a bit longer than anticipated–lots of fabric in a very small space–but I hope to finish in the next couple of weekends.
Until then, my drawing desk is doubling as a sewing table. Living in New York sure is about making the most of your space!
