Happy weekend, lovelies! New York Fashion Week is always a busy time because there is so much inspiration and this season was no exception! I was happy to be invited to a few shows and of course loved watching some of my favorites online and sketching them as they came down the runway (Snapping and Instagramming of course!)…
Here are some of my sketches from the New York shows, I’ll be sketching looks from the London, Milan and Paris shows in the next few weeks!
Last Friday I attended Raul Penaranda’s show, I always love seeing his gorgeous evening wear! Raul is so sweet and talented and I’m honored to call him my friend. We will hopefully be collaborating on something together soon so stay tuned =)
Next up was Jill Stuart’s fall presentation. I loved pretty much every look and it was hard to narrow down which ones I wanted to sketch. I also captured some fun video during the show and rushed home to put pencil to paper and illustrate my favorites.
Here’s the video I took from the show along with work-in-progress clips of my Jill Stuart sketches, it’s also available on my YouTube channel:
Next up was a presentation by Australian designer Christopher Esber. His collection was really edgy and modern, and I definitely took notice of that fabulous skirt with custom resin buttons.
And later that day, I attended the Sherri Hill fashion show which had no shortage of sparkly looks. I think my favorite was this disco inspired sparkle jumpsuit…
It’s super convenient that most shows are streamed live online these days and it allows me to sketch in real time from the comfort of my desk =) Here are some of my favorite looks from the rest of fashion week…
Oscar de la Renta
I hope you liked seeing my sketches up close! And I encourage you to check out all the shows (Vogue.com has great photos) and let me know which ones were your favorites in the comments below!
I hope you have a great weekend =)
